Professional installation
Christmas lights for Battle Ground homes and acreage
Bigger lots usually mean longer rooflines, detached garages and mature trees. That's where custom-fit strands and mini lights make the biggest difference.
We build each roofline strand on site to the exact length needed, with C9 or C7 bulbs on 12-inch spacing. Every strand is commercial grade.
Mini lights for trees, bushes and columns are $2.25 a foot, so lighting the yard to match the house stays within reach. They come in warm white, multicolor, red or green.
We install throughout Battle Ground and the surrounding communities, including Meadow Glade, Lewisville, Brush Prairie, Hockinson and Venersborg.
Full service
What's included with every Battle Ground install
There's no separate charge for the extras. All of this is part of the per-foot price.
Personal design help
From a simple warm white roofline to a full color pattern on the trees, we work out the plan with you before anything goes up.
Better lights, not store lights
We hang commercial-grade C9 and C7 strands. Their retrofit LEDs keep glowing even when the bulb next to them quits.
Built at your home
No guessing at lengths. Each strand is cut and assembled on site to match the peaks and gutters it hangs on.
Maintenance included
Every repair during the season is covered, whether it's one bulb or a full strand. Just call us and we'll take care of it.
Removal handled
Once the holidays wrap up, our crew removes the full display by mid-January, so your roof is clear early in the new year.
Ready for next year
Your lights are labeled, stored and kept with your home's install notes, which makes next season quicker and cheaper.

The lights
Choosing your Christmas lights: C9, C7 or minis
Each bulb style suits a different spot. All of them are commercial-grade lights built to last the season.

Best for rooflines
C9 bulbs
Bold and classic. These larger bulbs are spaced every 12 inches and use retrofit LEDs that stay on if one nearby goes out.

Best for a lower profile
C7 bulbs
Almost as bright as a C9 but physically smaller, giving rooflines a slimmer, tidier look.

Best for trees and bushes
Mini lights
For landscaping and railings. Minis come in warm white, multicolor, red or green, and other colors are available by request.
Nine colors. Any pattern.
Go with a single color, alternate two or design a custom sequence.

A family company lighting Clark County since 2007
Red Hat Lighting started in 2007, when founder Jesse began offering holiday lights through his landscaping business. He enjoyed it enough to keep going after he sold the landscaping company.
In 2010 his friend Brian came on as a partner, and in 2012 Jesse's sister Genevieve joined to run the office. She's now a governing partner in the LLC. Almost two decades in, it's still a company run by family and friends.
We're licensed in Washington as a limited liability company and insured up to $1 million per occurrence, so your home is covered while we work.

Questions
Battle Ground Christmas light installation FAQ
Still wondering about something? Call (360) 474-7640 any time from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
How much does Christmas light installation cost in Battle Ground, WA?
We charge $6.00 per linear foot the first season, which covers custom fitting and light rental, and $4.50 per foot every season after. Mini lights for trees and bushes are $2.25 per foot. Most homes need 100 to 200 feet for the front rooflines and gutters. Maintenance, takedown and storage are included.
Can you light trees and bushes on a larger property?
Yes. Mini lights for trees, bushes and columns are $2.25 per linear foot, in warm white, multicolor, red or green, with other colors on request.
When should I book my installation?
Installs start in early October and the schedule fills up quickly. Reaching out early gives you more dates to pick from, and you can wait to turn the lights on as long as you want.
How do I get an estimate?
Share your address and a photo of your house with what you have in mind. If the house shows up online, we can often go over it by phone. Your final price is based on the footage we use.
Can you hang my own lights?
Not for new customers. We install only our own commercial-grade, custom-fit lights. Occasionally we'll make an exception for commercial-grade custom lights built by another company, once we've looked at them.
What kind of lights do you use?
Commercial-grade C9 strands spaced every 12 inches with retrofit LED bulbs that stay on when others fail, the same in a smaller C7 size, and mini lights for trees, bushes, columns and railings.
What colors can I choose?
For C9 and C7 bulbs: warm white, red, green, blue, teal, orange, yellow, pink and purple, arranged any way you like. Minis come in warm white, multicolor, red or green, and other colors are available on request.
What happens if a bulb or strand goes out?
Give us a call and we'll repair it. Maintenance is part of your price, so in-season repairs cost nothing extra.
When do you take the lights down?
Everything we hung comes down by the end of the second week of January, and your lights go into storage for next year.
Do I get to keep the lights?
The lights are rented, which lets us store, maintain and reinstall them for you every year. Because inventory is limited, purchases are available only to previous customers.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Red Hat Lighting is a licensed Washington LLC with insurance of up to $1 million per incident covering harm to people or property.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes. We offer 10% off to veterans and senior citizens.
